Prison Ministry
Missionary Stella Battle
The Prison Ministry started in May 2006. Ten (10) years later it’s still ministering to the men in Sussex II. The team visits the prison every second Sunday morning at 8:30. The services consist of approximate 80 men that choose to attend the Praise and Worship conducted by their fellow inmates and then followed by one of our speaker on the team. The services are truly a blessing to the men. Many have surrendered their life to the Lord, while others are requesting prayer at the altar. We are thankful to God for allowing us to serve and encourage others. If you would to serve on the Prison Ministry Team, please contact Missy Stella Battle, the coordinator.

Elder Glenwood and Missionary Jaclyn Thomas
Missionary Jaclyn Thomas was taught at an early age by her parents, Rev. Dr. Arthur and Dr. Mary G. Holmes to serve the community. At the church her father pastored, she was an active participant in the feeding program at a local men’s shelter in Lynchburg, VA. As a part of the National Honor Society at Heritage High School, she frequently helped at Our Daily Bread a soup kitchen in the city. She continued to serve the community as an adult by organizing community health days and clothing give-a-ways in Hopewell, VA.
