Missions/Evangelism

The 3 o’clock hour represents the Imperative Act of Missions / Evangelism where we (the church) should always be strategically ready to fulfill our Lord’s Great Commission by doing as He did in making disciples (Read Matthew 28:19). Our Missions / Evangelism Department is designed to teach and apply biblical methods of sharing Christ with those who do not know Him. We endeavor to fulfill this mission by showing love and influencing the community through ministry to extend the Kingdom of God, reach the lost and provide relief for the suffering at home and around the world as Christ has commanded. Additionally, we believe that in order to understand our Life’s Mission as it relates to T.I.M.E. we must view our existence on earth in relation to eternity. Life on earth is very brief; therefore, we must utilize our T.I.M.E. wisely and seek to fulfill our Life’s Mission NOW!!!

Worship/Warfare

The 6 o’clock hour represents two of the Six Imperative Acts, namely, Worship and Warfare. Every believer must understand that at the moment of salvation, there is an instant expectation of worship as well as warfare (Read Matthew 22:37-38). From this verse of scripture, we discover worship. In Matthew 16:18 after Peter’s revelation from God the Father, Jesus revealed His true identity to His disciples. From these two foundational texts we discover that the Great Commandment and the Great Combat, which the Lord’s Church must continually be engaged. The Lord’s Church is commanded to worship God with our lives, and is expected to engage in warfare against Satan and his cohort. There is a balance between these two concepts; that our worship is no greater than our warfare and our warfare no greater than our worship!

Membership

The 9 o’clock hour represents the Imperative Act of Membership. The Church is a family and God expects us to be a member of a church family. Ephesians 2:19 points out that we are members of God’s very own family… and we belong in God’s household with every other Christian”. Galatians 3:26-28 goes on to say that the church is a body of believers in Jesus Christ with diverse backgrounds and that we are one in Jesus Christ. Most people live their entire lives without knowing why they exist or what God’s purpose is for their life. The questions many are asking today are, “Why was I born? Why am I here? What is the purpose of my life?” Here at Gates of Faith Ministries, we discover the answers to these questions together!

Discipleship

The 12 o’clock hour represents the Imperative Act of Discipleship. Discipleship is a process or journey that we will continue until Christ returns. We are to work continuously at becoming more and more like Christ until He comes back for His bride, the Church. We find in 1 John 3:2-3, that there is more to the Christian life than being saved and a member of the church. Spiritual Maturity is absolutely necessary in order to fulfill the will of God in our lives.

Ministry

The Hands Shaft represents the Imperative Act of Ministry. We believe God has given each of us a personal ministry in His church. In the Great Commandant; Jesus commands us to love our neighbor as ourselves. (Read Matthew 22:39). Ministry is seeing a need and meeting that need in love. Mark 10:43-45 provides a clear picture of what true ministry is. We are convinced that one must first be saved and committed to Church membership and Christian maturity before you are ready to serve in Christian ministry. Commitment to membership and maturity are the foundational building blocks for sound Christian Ministry.
